Hello! My name is Chase Crouse. I am the Account Executive for Verbum Bible Software and I wanted to take a moment to introduce myself on our blog.
Here’s a quick peak into how I ended up here at Verbum.
I was born into a nominally Catholic family, but I had my reversion to the faith in 2012. Shortly after that I found myself serving with NET Ministries of Canada for 2 years before going to finish my undergrad at John Paul the Great Catholic University. I then completed my Master’s degree in Biblical Theology while working as the campus minister at JPCatholic.
My main area of study in both my undergrad and my masters was Biblical Spiritual Theology. I found myself taken in by Spiritual Doctors of the Church such as St. John of the Cross, St. Bernard of Clairvaux, and St. Theresa of Avila. In particular, their use of both St. Paul and the Song of Songs to explore Deification.
Shortly after my Masters I married my beautiful wife Viva and we moved to New York City where I worked for the Archdiocese of New York’s Office of Young Adult Outreach. Once our first baby was on the way we decided to move to Texas to be closer to family. We have lived in the Austin area ever since!
I absolutely love what I do here at Faithlife. My main responsibility is to equip diocese and schools with Verbum for priests, deacons, seminarians and lay leaders who wish to continue their study of Sacred Scripture and helps others do the same.
Every time I hear a story of how Verbum has helped priests and deacons in homily or Bible study preparation I get so excited because that means I have freed up their time to be with their people and continue to serve the Church.
